We are…

DBGM hopes that by its work, through the medium of the documentary, the In My Mind LGBTQ+ People of Color Mental Health Conference, the Ancestral Institute, an LGBTQ+ Global South Summit, and community discussion fora (HER & Sons) to raise awareness of mental health, including depression, as these affect Black gay men and wider LGBTQ+ communities.

While looking at how they are affected, working to change perceptions, reactions and responses at the grassroots level: the family, church, school, and community; that a Black gay men need not hide or live his life in shame, or be made to feel ashamed, but be proud of who he is and his place in the human family.

And, for those Black gay men who have lived and still struggle with depression, to know that they are not alone.
